The mission of the EU-Cuba Network for Democracy is to unify and strengthen EU-Cuban civil society organizations engaged towards a common goal: EU Citizen Integration and advancing democracy in Cuba. To fulfill our mission we rely on four pillars of development: Trust, Partnerships, Diplomacy, EU Citizen Integration
Acting with strong ethics is a priority for everyone representing our organization.
When people work together, they can create something greater than themselves as individuals.
Accepting responsibility for your actions (and inactions) is the ultimate way to build trust internally and externally.
We are committed to bringing different experiences and a range of backgrounds into a shared environment where everyone has equal opportunity.
Our work can only be strengthen and develop to its full potential if we create a relationship of trust between our netwrok and the citizen at large. Therefore, we value strong working relations based on mutual trust, transparency and respect.
By creating strong EU partnerships and working on a common agenda, the Cuban diaspora can be stronger. Aside from our national realities, we believe in the European project and wish to be a part of it.
Our will to create realiable and trustworthy channels of communication between the Cuban diaspora and EU Institutions is a pillar of our development. We want our voices to count in EU-Cuba affaires.
Sucessful EU Citizen integration can only be done with institutional engagement and regular citizen consultations. We welcome any collaboration from International institutions and NGOs.
Through diplomatic action and political involvement the EU-Cuba Network for Democracy aim to establish a dialogue with regional and national governments, the European Union, and international institutions to defend basic Human Rights and the Rule of Law in Cuba.
The democratization process of Cuba needs an engaged international democratic community to accompany pro-democracy groups in the process.
Through our EU-Cuba Citizen Ambassador Program we are developing a diplomatic training platform aimed at developing the skills and organizational capacity of emerging Cuban Human Rights leaders in Europe.
The Cuban diaspora today is displaced in three main regions of the world : North America, Europe, and South America, our goal is to unite our efforts to contribute to the democratization of Cuba !
Our lecture series aims to educate the European public about the reality of the Cuban people. The distortion of our history and reality has been one of the biggest treason intentionally made by the communist regime to divide the Cuban nation.
The social and economic rupture between the state and the citizenry has created a chronic state of fear and mistrust in the regime. Cubans have a duty to reconcile their differences and work together in order to regain freedom for all again.
Through our different online and field campaigns we aim to raise awareness of the situation in Cuba and the will of Cuban people. We need to be more effective in combatting 64 years of disinformation by the cuban communist regime.
Our campaigns range widely from the liberation of political prisoners, police brutality, protesting arbitrary laws, Human Rights violations, and persecution of the press, etc.
We are constantly observing the situation on the island, as well as collaborating with different pro-democratic groups inside and outside of Cuba which contribute to the effectiveness and reliability of our work.
As advocates of victims of communism, the EU-Cuba Network for Democracy will continue to remind the European population of the dangers of communism, marxism and all totalitarian ideologies.
The communist regime in Cuba has used its monopoly on the press to disinform the Cuban people for more than 6 decades.
With the arrival of the internet in 2017, the monopoly of the state run media and its communist propaganda has brrn broken. However, cubans are still very far behind when it comes to digital literacy and our battle to organize ourselves digitally has only just begun.
With more than 15 years of experience in organizing relief efforts for the Cuban people, our collaborator Mrs. Lia Randich is in charge of coordinating all humanitarian aid support to the island. Especially noteworthy is the shipment of medicines and sanitary material, scarce on the island. Our distribution network does not encounter interference from the Communist Party of Cuba.
Although at times it becomes very difficult to have our humanitarian aid arrive from people to people, we do our best to help our people in the island.
Humanitarian aid to Cuba channeled through state approved mechanisms are also a source of corruption.
In November 2022 we have launched a new training program for Cuban democrtaic leaders to learn the art of diplomacy and peacemaking negotiations. Our citizen ambassadors are emerging democracy leaders and advocated of a peaceful, orderly and timely democratic transition in Cuba.
